With FUE there are no scalpels, no stitches and no need to remove a donor strip. It is a reliable, consistent minor surgical procedure – performed under local anaesthetic – that offers candidates an alternative to removing the skin and follicles together.
Using a custom-built micro-surgical punch of less than 1mm diameter, individual follicular units are removed one-by-one from donor areas at the back and sides of the head, without affecting any of the surrounding tissue.
Each unit is then replaced in the front, top or crown of the scalp where the hair is transient, thinning or balding.
Doctor Rogers and his team can extract and replace anywhere between 600 to 1,200 follicular units in each session. Because the procedure involves no major incisions, you can return for up to 4 sessions within a 4-7 day period - a total of almost 5,000 hairs.
How soon is my hair back to normal?
FUE is a straight-forward, painless procedure and the donor area heals so rapidly that it is practically undetectable within 7 days.
Unlike other procedures, with FUE you can also resume nearly all of your normal activities immediately. At about one week after the procedure, there is nothing to stop you going for a swim or to the gym. In most cases – and provided you follow our post-surgery guidelines – there will be no visible signs of your micro-surgery in around 10 days, often sooner. So you can return to work as quickly as you like.
Since there is no pitting, indentation or scarring, you will be free to choose any style or cut of hair, as short or as long as you like.
Why put up with thin, receding hair or baldness?
Your transplanted hair will look and feel exactly the same as your naturally growing hair. FUE guarantees a perfect, natural appearance that will last a lifetime. It is impossible to tell the difference even under magnification. No-one need ever know.
